The Classic Center announces recipients of the 2022 Paul M. Cramer Hospitality Education Fund

The Classic Center announces that four employees have received funding from the 2022 Paul M. Cramer Hospitality Education Fund. This workforce development initiative was created as a scholarship opportunity to help employees at The Classic Center further their education and enhance their careers in the hospitality industry.

The 2022 Paul M. Cramer Hospitality Scholarship Fund recipients are Scott Dodd, Air Conditioning Electrical Technician certificate from Athens Technical College; Shannon Dominy, Travel Marketing Professional certification from Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College; Daniel Spratlin, Professional Customer Service Certification; and Brandon Stroud who is pursuing a Master's in Business Administration.

The Paul M. Cramer Hospitality Education Fund was established in 2019, in celebration of Paul Cramer’s 25th anniversary as President/CEO of The Classic Center. Mr. Cramer began his successful career in Rochester, New York, working his way from Banquet and Concessions Manager in 1986 to Assistant Executive Director by 1992. In 1995, Mr. Cramer moved to Athens, Georgia where he began his work with The Classic Center Authority and local community, to oversee the development and construction of The Classic Center.

Throughout years of leading The Classic Center’s efforts, Mr. Cramer has championed workforce development efforts through the hospitality industry. Through the creation of programs such as Bread for Life and the Hospitality Careers Academy, as well as his direct influence in the establishment of hospitality degree programs at Athens Technical College, Mr. Cramer has proven repeatedly that the hospitality industry is a true driver of local workforce development and economic growth. Mr. Cramer and his wife, Stacey, are especially grateful to the private donors who made this fund possible.

“I am so proud to have so many leaders within our company,” said Paul Cramer, President/CEO of The Classic Center. “Our staff is what makes The Classic Center special, and Scott, Shannon, Daniel, and Brandon perfectly exemplify our core values of hospitality, teamwork, and servant-style leadership.”
