United Way of Northeast Georgia is excited to celebration National Volunteer Month by asking local volunteers to support the children in the foster care system in our region. Volunteers can pack Forever Bags – duffle bags or drawstring backpacks filled with toiletries, books, and more (all new) – and deliver them to United Way of Northeast Georgia’s office the week of April 26. A packing list and details can be found
here. United Way of Northeast Georgia will then distribute those bags to Children First, Inc. and Northeast Georgia CASA to give to local children in foster care. Our hope is with these Forever Bags, they can carry something with them that is entirely their own when they go to a new home setting. Email Elizabeth Earl (
eearl@unitedwaynega.org) or Alison Alwes (
ageist@unitedwaynega.org) about dropping off the bags or any additional questions.
