Please join the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the ribbon cutting for Magnolia State Bank's newest branch location.
Magnolia State Bank has a proud history of serving Georgians as a family-controlled community bank for 116 years. The bank first opened as the First National Bank of Eastman in 1909. Their headquarters in Eastman, GA is also the resting place of UGA’s first English Bulldog mascot, Mr. Angel. This often-forgotten mascot in UGA’s history, who served from 1944 until 1946, has been retroactively immortalized in numerous articles from The Red & Black as well as in their very own monument in Eastman. Mr. Angel is a beloved part of the Magnolia State Bank story!
