Please join the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the opening and ribbon cutting for the Salvation Army of Athens' new shelter! The Salvation Army of Athens has been serving the community since 1916, providing essential services such as emergency shelter, food assistance, disaster relief, and support programs for individuals and families in need.
This newly renovated 80 plus-bed shelter is a significant step forward in their mission to offer safe, stable, and supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness. This shelter allows them to better serve men, women, and families, providing not just a place to stay but also resources for long-term stability, including case management, job readiness programs, and life skills training.
With the support of the community, they continue to offer hope, help, and a path forward to those who need it most.”
